The city of Rastatt and the Rastatt municipal council are clearly committed to consistently enabling people with disabilities to participate in public life in the city without barriers and on an equal footing. This commitment is set out in the "Municipal Inclusion Action Plan", which has been in place in Rastatt since 2016 and was developed together with those affected.
Current Inclusion Action Plan
To shape a culture of diversity in Rastatt, the municipal council adopted a municipal action plan for the first time on March 16, 2016.
Whether in terms of accessibility and mobility, culture, leisure and sport, participation, education, upbringing and care or housing and health promotion: the current action plan shows what the city intends to do in the coming years. Over the next few years, a wealth of measures will once again be implemented for a barrier-free Rastatt and the participation of all people in social life in the city.
The 2nd update of the Municipal Action Plan for Inclusion for the years 2024 - 2028 was unanimously approved by the municipal council at its meeting on November 16, 2023.
Inclusion is a human right
Inclusion is a human right. The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has been in place since 2009. It states that people with disabilities have the same rights as people without disabilities. Inclusion means belonging, self-determination and participation in public life. Inclusion is an ongoing process that does not happen by itself and must be lived and shaped by everyone.
