Village development concept Ottersdorf

In Ottersdorf, the historic village center with its many half-timbered houses and the village square is to be secured. The area in Wilhelmstraße between the town hall and the Catholic parish hall will be upgraded. The roadway will be narrowed, giving pedestrians more space. Nordstrasse and Friedrichstrasse are also to be redeveloped.

Village center

The Catholic parish hall on Nordstrasse, which is in serious need of renovation, is to be demolished. If an agreement is reached with the Catholic church, a senior citizens' center could be built in its place. After the planned move of the fire department to the commercial area, the square behind the town hall is to be converted into a new village meeting place. The area around the church of St. Ägidius will also be made attractive by means of street furniture and a uniform floor covering.

Educational Center

The expansion of the Riedwiesen daycare center near the elementary school, which was stipulated in the village development concept, has now been completed. The new school sports facility has also been put into operation. Now the barrier-free expansion of the school building is pending. It is to be raised and given a spacious foyer. The renovation of the school sports hall, meanwhile, is almost complete. Only the roof will be renewed as part of the planned extension. In addition, the school garden is to be enlarged, the building yard is to be renovated and the building yard area is to be connected to Wilhelmstraße.

Commercial and residential

The demand for housing is also increasing in Ottersdorf. The demand could be met on the existing sports fields of FV Ottersdorf. To do this, the club would have to be relocated. The possibility for this exists after the soccer clubs from Plittersdorf and Wintersdorf have given signals for a merger with FV Ottersdorf. The search for a location for a joint sports facility has begun.

No less important is the restructuring of the industrial park at the southern entrance to the town, where a Netto store is currently being built. Other businesses are to follow. There are also plans to locate the Ottersdorf fire station there.
