Ottersdorf village development concept

In Ottersdorf, the historic town center with its many half-timbered houses and the village square is to be secured. The area in Wilhelmstrasse between the town hall and the Catholic parish hall will be upgraded. The roadway will be narrowed to give pedestrians more space. Nordstrasse and Friedrichstrasse are also to be renovated.

The Catholic parish hall in Nordstraße, which is in dire need of renovation, is to be demolished. If an agreement is reached with the Catholic church, a senior citizens' center could be built in its place. Following the planned relocation of the fire department to the industrial estate, the square behind the town hall is to be converted into a new village meeting place. The area around St. Ägidius church will also be attractively designed with street furniture and a uniform floor covering.

Education center

The expansion of the Riedwiesen daycare center next to the elementary school, which was stipulated in the village development concept, has now been completed. The new school sports facility has also already been put into operation. Now the barrier-free extension of the school building is still pending. It is to be extended and given a spacious foyer. Meanwhile, the renovation of the school sports hall is almost complete. Only the roof will be renewed as part of the planned extension. In addition, the school garden is to be enlarged, the building yard renovated and the building yard site connected to Wilhelmstrasse.

Commercial and residential

The demand for living space is also increasing in Ottersdorf. The demand could be met on the existing sports grounds of FV Ottersdorf. To do this, the club would have to be relocated. The possibility of this exists now that the soccer clubs from Plittersdorf and Wintersdorf have given signals for a merger with FV Ottersdorf. The search for a location for a joint sports facility has begun.

No less important is the restructuring of the commercial area at the southern entrance to the town, where a Netto supermarket is currently being built. Further businesses are to follow. There are also plans to locate the Ottersdorf fire station there.
