Just a few minutes' walk from the city center hides a gem of nature: the Rastatt Ecostation. The approximately 2,000 square meter nature-oriented area on the Westring near the gas balls is a species-rich habitat for numerous plants and animals. At the same time, it offers Rastatt kindergartens and schools a variety of opportunities for experience- and practice-oriented teaching.
Whether bee hotel, pond or garden plots - at the ecostation children experience environmental topics up close. From spring to summer, the ecostation hosts nature experience days for third-grade school classes and, on request, for interested groups. The Ecostation is also the venue for school project days and events in the city's vacation program. As a rule, well over 1,000 children and young people visit the Rastatt Ecostation every year.
The ecostation is supervised by the two annually changing FÖJ-employees. In addition, there are five garden plots in the station, which are preferably used by children's and youth groups and school classes. The Ecostation is open on request to all kindergartens, schools and (nature and environmental protection) associations in Rastatt for nature and environmental protection projects. Interested parties can contact us by mail to foej@rastatt.de contact.
