Castle park in the middle of the city
The palace park is the central green space in Rastatt. Behind the castle, Margrave Ludwig Wilhelm of Baden-Baden planned a pleasure garden as it was known from France. Today the park combines baroque with modern elements. Fountains, flower gardens as well as colorful and shady pergolas still remind us of Rastatt's baroque period. The park is framed by chestnut trees, some of which are centuries old. When the ornamental cherries are in full bloom in spring and the blue rain blossoms almost at the same time, the palace garden shines in pink-violet tones.
